EA says the long awaited patch will be released Wednesday - "The patch for the PC edition of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has passed quality assurance and is being readied for release at 1:00 am EDT (7:00 am GMT+2) Wednesday and that the updated servers should go online at 5:00 am EDT (11:00 am GMT+2)"
